What to Expect in Your First Therapy Session

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all — it works best when it’s shaped around you. Here’s how we’ll work together:

Building Trust & Understanding

From our very first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and create a safe, supportive space. Building this trusting relationship is the foundation for everything we’ll do together

Getting Clear on What’s Going On
We’ll explore your history, what brought you to therapy, clarify your challenges, and identify what you hope to achieve.

Defining Your Goals
Together, we’ll establish what progress looks like for you — whether that’s improving your relationship, feeling more grounded emotionally, or better supporting your teen.

Creating Your Plan
I’ll design a therapy plan tailored to you, drawing from evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and Reality Therapy. If desired, I can also integrate faith-based or holistic strategies.

Active Therapy & Growth
We’ll meet regularly to put your plan into action — practicing new skills, exploring insights, and making adjustments as needed to support lasting change and help you move forward confidently toward your goals.
