Debbie Timm, LMFT

My therapeutic approach integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy (grounded in Choice Theory), and the Gottman Method for couples. I draw inspiration from Leslie Vernick, who speaks powerfully to healing from emotionally destructive relationships, and Terry Real, founder of Relational Life Therapy, which emphasizes building connection without losing your sense of self. Their insights enrich the framework I bring to therapy, guiding individuals and couples as they move from patterns of survival into relationships rooted in respect, emotional safety, and authentic connection.

I work with individuals from teens up to mature adults, to address mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD and more, relationship concerns including divorce, identity struggles, athletic and performance related stress, and life transitions. I also offer a Christian-informed approach for those seeking faith-based therapy. With a background in integrative medicine, I recognize the crucial role nutrition plays in healing—supporting not only your mental framework, but also honoring the vital mind-body connection.

We all need someone who truly listens, understands, and accepts us in our in-between moments. A little humor, a comfortable space to express creative ideas, and the encouragement to make wise choices can go a long way. You may sense the need for change but not know where or how to start. I’m here to help you take brave steps toward resilience—so you can move from merely surviving to living with purpose and passion.

Let’s begin something new today!
