Therapy for Depression

Online Therapy Available Across California

Compassionate support to help you reconnect with yourself, regain energy, and feel hopeful again.

You don’t have to go through depression alone. Evidence-based therapy can help you rebuild stability, motivation, and emotional balance.

What Is Depression?

Depression is more than sadness. It’s a persistent change in mood, thinking, energy, and motivation that interferes with daily life. It can feel like emotional heaviness, numbness, or disconnection—often paired with mental fog, irritability, or physical fatigue.

Everyone’s experience is different, and depression can show up quietly or intensely. If these feelings persist for most of the day, nearly every day, for several weeks, or interfere with daily life, it may be a sign that support from a therapist can help you regain balance, energy, and hope.

Your Path to Feeling Better

A Supportive,
Non-Judgmental Space,
and a Plan

You get a safe place to talk honestly about what you’re feeling—without pressure, shame, or expectations. Sessions are available both in-person and virtually, so you can receive support even if it’s difficult to meet in the office.

Common symptoms include:

  • Loss of interest in activities you normally enjoy

  • Low motivation and reduced energy

  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

  • Changes in sleep or appetite

  • Feeling worthless, hopeless, or overwhelmed

  • Irritability or emotional numbness

  • Withdrawing from people or responsibilities

Identify What's Beneath the Depression

We explore possible root causes and patterns that contribute to depression, such as:

  • Chronic stress

  • Relationship issues

  • Past trauma

  • Low self-worth

  • Isolation and loneliness

  • Grief or loss

  • Life transitions

  • Burnout or emotional exhaustion

Understanding these underlying factors helps you see the bigger picture of what’s keeping depression stuck, so therapy can be more targeted and effective.

Understand How Your Body Holds Stress

Depression can affect the body as well as the mind. Many people experience physical tension, fatigue, or a “freeze” response—a way the body reacts to prolonged stress or trauma. Therapy helps you notice and release these patterns, so healing happens both mentally and physically.

I integrate evidence-based therapy methods that are customized to your unique needs, helping you address and overcome depression. Common approaches I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Reality Therapy (Choice Theory).

I also draw from additional frameworks and tools as needed to tailor therapy for each client. For a full overview of the methods I use, as well as my training and expertise, please visit my About page.
