In-Person Sessions Available in Fallbrook, CA
Do you feel stuck in an endless loop of fear, shame, and anxiety?
Are you emotionally drained throughout the day and frustrated that you can’t shake off certain unsettling thoughts? Does your body stay tense from morning to night? You may wonder how others move on to the next thought so easily while you find yourself replaying the same triggers and feeling pulled into compulsions.
You’re trapped in routines that feel safe but limit your life, afraid that facing your fears will overwhelm you with panic or dissociation. Living this way is exhausting, and change may feel impossible — but it is possible. Many people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) feel misunderstood or stuck until they find the right support and tools. You don’t have to carry this alone — help is here when you’re ready.
Understanding OCD
OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) is a condition where unwanted thoughts or urges lead to repetitive behaviors, rituals, or mental checking. While these compulsions are attempts to reduce anxiety, they often create distress and interfere with daily life.
How I Treat OCD in Therapy
I use gold-standard, evidence-based treatments for OCD, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). These approaches help you face intrusive thoughts and reduce compulsive behaviors in a safe, structured way, empowering you to regain control over your daily life.
In addition, I draw on other therapeutic modalities — including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy — when needed. These tools allow me to tailor treatment to your unique needs, addressing emotional regulation, relationship challenges, personal values, and coping skills to support your progress in a holistic way.
The combination of structured OCD treatment and individualized support helps you not only reduce symptoms, but also build resilience, confidence, and lasting change.
Supporting OCD Treatment with Nutritional & Integrative Approaches
In addition to gold-standard therapies like CBT and ERP, I may incorporate Nutritional and Integrative Medicine strategies to support your mental health and overall well-being. This can include dietary guidance, lifestyle adjustments, and supplements that support brain function, overall body balance, and nervous system regulation.
While these approaches don’t replace evidence-based OCD therapy, they can enhance your progress by helping your body and mind feel more resilient, focused, and balanced as you work through exposures and skill-building.
What’s Holding You Back from Starting OCD Therapy
Doubting change is possible: After years with OCD, imagining a future without fear or compulsions can feel impossible.
Fear of panic or dissociation: Worry that exposures will overwhelm your nervous system, causing a panic attack or “shutting down.”
Feeling OCD defines you: Years of intrusive thoughts and rituals can make change feel unfamiliar.
Past therapy experiences: Feeling misunderstood, minimized, or reinforced in ways that worsened OCD.
Exhaustion from trying without results: Previous attempts may have left you discouraged or doubtful.
Fear that something bad will happen: Anxiety that you or others are in real danger can make even small exposures feel terrifying.
Overwhelmed by shame and self-criticism: Strong feelings of worthlessness or defectiveness can make starting therapy feel impossible.
Fear of judgment: Believing you should be able to manage it on your own and fear of judgment can make reaching out feel scary.
Not knowing where to start: Conflicting information can make doing nothing seem safer.
Benefits of Seeking OCD Therapy
Common Questions About OCD Therapy
Feeling understood and supported: A therapist who truly knows OCD validates your experience and safeguards your progress rather than enabling OCD patterns.
Fresh perspective: Past experiences don’t define what’s possible — the right specialist can change everything.
Real, lasting change: Tailored, safe treatment gives you the tools to break free from OCD’s cycle.
Therapy that’s manageable: Face fears safely and take steps to get unstuck, moving forward at your own pace.
Staying grounded: Learn to regulate your nervous system, even during exposures, building resilience.
Improved relationships: Reconnect with loved ones, communicate more effectively, and repair strain caused by OCD.
Learn to re-trust yourself: Build confidence in decisions by separating your own voice from internalized critical messages.
Enhanced focus: Re-gain clarity and energy by not getting distracted by obsessive thoughts or self-critical loops.
Recovery with support: You don’t have to do it alone — steps that once felt impossible become doable.
